‘A short-term pain is a long-term gain but a short-term gain is a long-term pain’ says Harold D’souza while talking about his journey to freedom.

Do you know how many Human Rights are defined for every person living on this planet? Do you know which are these rights? Do you know how to exercise them? The answers to many such questions shall be answered on 30th Jan 2021 at Human Rights: From Education to Action | Interactive Workshop with Ellen Firestone and Special Guest Harold D’Souza.

A creative sharing the details of the event

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly. It gives us 30 Universal Human Rights and most of us are not aware about all the rights. The session shall throw light on them and help you know what rights does every human on this land have irrespective of their Country, class, ethnicity, etc.

The interaction shall further educate the audience about conserving their rights. Various actions and remedies that can be taken or done in order to protect your rights shall be discussed. This is helpful not only for saving your human rights but anybody you know and needs help. Moving ahead, the organizations which can be a helping hand to protect you and others in the society shall be introduced. Such information can be critical for those who really are in need and need some help with exercising their Human Rights in the right context.

The Interactive Workshop shall be hosted by Ellen Firestone: An International Human Rights Ambassador with United for Human Rights Former Board Member of National Council of the United Nations Association of the United States. Ellen received the 2018 President’s Volunteer Service Award for her work with Human Rights. She also hosts the “Know Your Rights” podcast series.
