There are very few actors in the Hindi film industry who are critically acclaimed as well as appreciated by the audience. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one such actor. He is one of the best actors in the industry right now. His strength is the way he delivers his lines so effortlessly that it never seems as if he is acting.
All his performances have a touch of realism in them and he always appears as one among us. Majority of his character is grounded in life who does not appear as larger than life. The rest are also great performances.
Today on his birthday let us look at some of his best performances and films:-
Manjhi When you see a movie do you feel the struggle that the character is feeling? Do you see yourself as that character of that movie? No. I suggest you to watch Manjhi. You’ll feel it’s slow but trust me you’ll also feel the pain, the love and every other emotion that the director Ketan Mehta is trying to show you. In the movie, you’ll see yourself as Dashrath Manjhi fighting against nature for his love and for everyone like him. I have never seen a love story as real as this where promises and sacrifice are not only till the time that they are together but even after that. After the death of his wife, Manjhi sacrifices his next 20 years or so just so that anyone else does not suffer from the same pain as he suffered from. Do you want to believe in true love again then forget Fault In Our Stars or Titanic and watch MANJI.
Raman Raghav 2.0
Have you seen a film that makes you forget the difference between real and reel? If the answer is no then watch Raman Raghav 2.0. I tell you there is no other movie like this. Everything about this movie is splendid; be it direction, story, cinematography, editing or acting. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the role of a serial killer Ramanna and Vicky Kaushal plays the role of an officer Raghavan. The acting is so real that after watching the film you’ll find Ramanna and Raghavan in everyone. I wish to share the story but any more detail will spoil the interest of watching the movie for you. Do watch the film and find yourself lost in every scene as Raghavan is.
Sacred Games A person having craze over web series must surely be knowning about Sacred Games and the storm it created in 2018.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of a gangster Ganesh Gaitonde who tells Sartaj(police officer) to save Mumbai in 25 days if he can. The story then reveals Ganesh Gaitonde’s past life and how it effects Sartaj’s present life.
He played the role of a photographer at the Gateway of India in Mumbai, whose whole life was spent in poverty since childhood. He gets attracted to Miloni, a CA aspirant belonging from a middle-class Gujarati family. This film is a simple tale of these 2 people from opposite background finding each other’s company comfortable.
A film can’t be considered good when only the main protagonist gives a good performance, instead, it becomes good when the whole cast including supporting actors leave a mark on the audience. Through this film Nawaz showed that a particular role or it’s screen time doesn’t matter, how you play the character and leave a mark on the audience’s memory is what matters. He plays the role of Pakistani TV reporter who helps Pawan to safely get Munni back to her home.
A 36 yr old Pushpinder Tyagi leaves his job in Dubai to come to India and find a girl for marriage. He is dark-complexioned and ugly looking according to everyone except for his family. On the other side of the story is Annie, a beautiful tall girl who wants to marry an NRI so that she could settle abroad. Pushpinder seemed like the only option for Annie so she married him. But things didn’t go the way she planned. Its a good comedy film with a soft storyline.
